The Opportunity
Many coaches go into personal training with the desire to coach but very quickly learn this is only 20% of the job. They suddenly have to learn how to run an entire business with accounting, marketing, sales, social media and all the rest taking up the majority of their time and headspace. The coaching roles atFitness Lab aim to remove all the unnecessary tasks so you can focus on being the best at one thing - coaching.
Your main priority is nurturing your client base. You must ensure they are expertly managed and looked after whilst providing expert coaching and programming for them to achieve their goals. On top of nurturing your client base you will be expected to support the facility in which you work within and the team through assistance with day-to-day tasks that need to be performed to keep the studio at the highest level, ensuring exceptional client experience is adhered to at all times.
Performance Metrics
The main aspect you will be reviewed on is customer retention. We do an incredible amount of work in the background to ensure your diary is filled with great clients and quickly. We conduct performance reviews every 6 months with coaches and one of the main focus points will be your retention of clients. You will also be reviewed on your programming, client progress and communication/ admin skills and teamwork.
The Role
Coaching roles at Fitness Lab are for those who have a growth mindset and want to join a culture of excellence with extremely high standards not often seen within the industry. This isn't just a job, it is a commitment to being the best coach you can possibly be and working towards that everyday.
We have two shifts:
- AM: 6am - 1pm
- PM: 1pm - 8pm
- + Saturdays: 8am - 1pm
- There is no rota or change to your shift times.
What we’re looking for
Non Negotiable’s
We have a set list of non negotiable’s that all Fitness Lab coaches must abide by:
- Punctuality - alway being on time and ready for any session, meeting or appointment
- Respect - respect for your fellow coaches, your clients, other clients of the business, Fitness Lab founders and your management team
- Organisation - being organised with your diary management, clients, emails, follow ups and how you conduct yourself as a professional coach
- Communication - clear and effective communication is a key skill for a coach. This is required at all levels of the business whether that is with clients, management or team members
- Proactiveness - we praise critical and independent thinking. We expect you to always go above and beyond to ensure you are the best version of yourself which in turn will provide a better overall coaching service to our clientele.
- Feedback - we don't believe in performance reviews. Waiting 6 months to provide feedback is too long. Being able to take feedback that is constructive and productive and beneficial is an essential skill needed at Fitness Lab
- Must at minimum hold a the Level 3 qualification in Personal Training from a recognised training provider or college
- A-Level or equivalent level of education (preferred)
In-Summary
We are looking for the next A-Players to join our rapidly growing team. We are searching for someone who is at the top of their game but looking to improve and grow under an established brand. We are searching for someone who knows this is their career for the long term and not just a job for the short term.
The next coach we hire must have an appetite for developing themselves into a well rounded individual. They must be an excellent communicator and active listener who understands that this job requires more than the "9-5 mentality" where you can switch off and leave it all behind at a certain time of the day.
We are searching for a coach who is capable of working on their own as well as in a group. They need to be proactive with their decision making and does not need micro management. We need an individual we can trust and who can lead without being asked to lead.
Working model
Upon successfully completing and passing our interview process you will be offered a role at Fitness Lab. From that moment on, we will fill your diary with clients and train you in best practices to ensure you succeed and grow as a personal trainer under our brand and guidance following a comprehensive onboarding process.

Fitness Lab is a premier 1-1 personal training business founded by Jack Coxall, Brett Durney & Sandra Calva, who combined hold over 30 years of personal training experience.
Fitness Lab consists of three locations in Central London: Soho, Fitzrovia and Mayfair. We are now looking to identify and hire exceptional coaches to further build our rapidly growing team of expert coaches.
